How much does a website cost in Estonia?
Rough price ranges for company websites, custom sites and online stores in Estonia, what makes one quote three times higher than another, and the yearly costs to budget for.

Ask three web agencies in Tallinn for a quote and you may get three very different numbers for what sounds like the same website. Usually they are not quoting the same thing. This guide explains what a website costs in Estonia, why quotes differ so much and what to budget for after launch.
Rough price ranges
As a rough guide for the Estonian market:
| Type of website | Typical scope | Indicative budget |
|---|---|---|
| Simple company website | 5 to 10 pages, contact form, one or two languages, template-based design | €2,000 – €6,000 |
| Custom company website | Custom design, CMS, several languages, integrations, SEO setup | €6,000 – €20,000 |
| Online store | Product catalogue, local payments, parcel lockers, accounting integration | €8,000 – €30,000+ |
| Web application or portal | Customer accounts, bookings, dashboards, custom logic | Quoted per project |
What makes one quote higher than another
Design: template or custom
A well-chosen template, adapted to your brand, is fast and affordable. A custom design is planned around your customers and content, takes longer and costs more. Both are valid choices; just make sure two quotes you compare make the same choice.
Number of languages
In Estonia many sites need Estonian, English and Russian. Each language adds setup, translation and testing. Done properly, with separate URLs and hreflang, it is a meaningful part of the budget. See our multilingual website guide.
Content
Who writes the text and supplies the photos? If the agency writes, translates and photographs, the quote rises. If you provide finished content, it falls, but launch often waits for content.
Integrations
Booking systems, CRMs, payment providers such as Montonio or Maksekeskus, parcel lockers from Omniva or DPD, and accounting tools such as Merit Aktiva each add work. Our e-commerce integrations guide covers the usual ones.
SEO and speed
A cheap quote may skip technical SEO, redirects from your old site, structured data and speed optimisation. Those are what get you found in Google, so ask whether they are included.
Accessibility and legal basics
Cookie consent, a privacy notice and accessible markup take time to do well. For online stores the European Accessibility Act may apply. See our website legal checklist.
Running costs to budget for
| Item | Typical yearly cost |
|---|---|
| Domain (.ee or .com) | Tens of euros |
| Hosting | From under €100 to several hundred euros, depending on traffic and setup |
| Paid plugins, themes or SaaS tools | Varies, often €50 – €500 |
| Maintenance and updates | Monthly fee, depending on the level of support |
Skipping maintenance is the most expensive saving. Outdated software is the most common reason small business websites get hacked. Read our maintenance checklist.
How to compare quotes fairly
- Send every agency the same brief: pages, languages, features and who supplies content.
- Ask what is not included.
- Ask who owns the domain, hosting and code after launch.
- Ask what maintenance costs per month.
- Compare the total for the first two years, not just the build price.
